Joseph Copley is a native of Waverly, PA. After receiving his BFA in Dance from SUNY Purchase, Joseph moved to the Bay Area in 2003 to join Oakland Ballet. He is now dancing as a Principal Dancer with Oakland and Madison Ballets, and is also a member of the Margaret Jenkins Dance Company, which he joined in 2004. He has had the pleasure of assisting Ms. Jenkins set works on companies outside her own including the San Francisco Ballet and others. Joseph is a member of Amy Siewert's IMAGERY, Dance Through Time, and The Milissa Payne Project. Other iconic artists that Joseph has had the pleasure of working with include Anna Halprin, John Sanborn, Howard Sayette, and Heklina. He has been honored by the city of Cincinnati, OH and San Francisco Department of Public Health, and is a recipient of the Next Generation Arts Leadership Grant from the Center for Cultural Innovation. He looks forward to working with the San Jose Youth Ballet and Dance Theatre International.
Born and raised in San Francisco, Ikolo Griffin received his dance training from San Francisco Ballet School through the Dance in Schools Program. In 1993, he became the first and only student from the school's outreach program to join the San Francisco Ballet Company. In that same year, he received the Princess Grace Award. After seven years as a member to the San Francisco Ballet, he joined the Dance Theatre of Harlem as a soloist and later as a principal dancer. He joined the Joffrey Ballet for two seasons, followed by two seasons back home in San Francisco at the Smuin Ballet. Ikolo now works as a freelance professional dancer in and around the Bay Area, appearing with the San Francisco Opera, Western Ballet, and Oakland Ballet. He looks forward to working with the San Jose Youth Ballet and Dance Theatre International.
Corps de Ballet dancer with the San Francisco Ballet since 2009 and DTI/SJYB alumna, Kristina danced the Pas de Deux in “Paquita” in the SJYB Company performances in June 2011.

Katja performed the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy in SJYB’s 2010 Nutcracker performance.
Justin is an alumnus of DTI, and performed the role of Snow King and the Arabian Pas de Deux in SJYB’s 2010 Nutcracker.
Jekyns Pelaez began his studies at Incolballet in his birthplace of Cali, Colombia. He danced with Ballet De Cali, Ballet Arizona, Chautauqua Ballet, Ohio Ballet, Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley and others before joining Diablo Ballet. He has also toured extensively throughout the United States, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Cuba (XIII Festival de Ballet de la Habana), and appeared at the International Children’s Festival. His repertoire includes The Nutcracker, Carmen, Cinderella, Lilac Garden, Rodeo, Giselle, Don Quixote, Carmina Burana, Serenade, La Fille Mal Gardee, Coppelia, Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, Flames of Paris, Napoli, Le Corsaire, Esplanade, and Hymn for Her. Since joining Diablo Ballet in 2003, he has danced the title role in George Balanchine's Apollo, Pas de Deux from Stars and Stripes and Who Cares, Val Caniparoli's Lady of the Camellias Pas de Deux and Cinderella Pas de Deux, KT Nelson's They’ve Lost Their Footing, The Escaping Game, Walk before Talk and The Petites and the Latin Couple in Lynn Taylor-Corbett's Broadway Award Winning Swing. Mr. Pelaez appeared as a non-competing partner at the 2006 International Ballet Competition in Jackson, Mississippi. Jekyns performed the role of Cavalier in SJYB’s Nutcracker performances in 2009 and 2010.
